They wrestle on the mat for a while until BamBam picks Sledge up in a quick bearhug before slamming him back onto the mat. They stay on the mat for quite a while and they seem pretty evenly matched. It's hard to tell who's going to win this one. BamBam gets in a few gut punches while he has Sledge on the mat, but Sledge flips him off of him. They get each other in a mercy hold that looks like Sledge is going to win until BamBam twists his wrist around to take control. Sledge gets out of the hold with knee to BamBam's gut, then grabs BamBam around the neck and flips him over onto his back. He keeps control by not letting go of BamBam's neck, leading him around the mat and flipping him over again before letting go. While BamBam lays on the mat, Sledge flexes for the camera, only to have BamBam give him a quick punch to the crotch, knocking Sledge down and BamBam takes over flexing for the camera. After some more wrestling on the mat, Sledge gets BamBam in a full nelson he holds onto for a while before turning him around into a bearhug. When he drops him on the mat, he leg scissors BamBam's neck and holds it for what seems like forever. While BamBam tries to recover, Sledge goes back to the kitchen and comes back eating one of BamBam's chicken wings. Of course, you have to be wrestling to get a real feel for trash talk, so the two guys start to tussle, just to work on the timing of those zingers and barbs. Jack takes an early lead, using real pain to sharpen Pythons line delivery. But one of the side effects of good shit talk is to elevate testosterone levels to dizzying heights, and when Python finally fires back, Thunders Arena loses its zero-accident workplace safety record, with a mishap that sends big Jack McHawk to the emergency room. (In case you miss it, we even offer a slow-motion replay of the event, you sickos.) McHawk returns from the ER in a rage, and what started out as a friendly classroom exercise turns into a grudge match. Smile for me now, he snarls through his teeth, SMILE FOR ME NOW! Jack puts Python through the wringer chokes, scissors, punches, and especially assaults to the arms and shoulders but Python takes it without tapping out. When Rex isn’t giving, he grabs hold of his arm to work away at his shoulder,he still isn’t giving, so he starts to instead yank at his hair! This pisses Rex off, but he’s still not quite able to break out of Talon’s iron grip. Once Talon finally lets up enough, Rex takes the upper hand, and stands above Talon, crushing his head this time in between his legs. He pounds on Talon a bit before reaching down to pick him up into an upside down bearhug. Talon’s not used to being manhandled quite like this, and you can really see how much he’s hating it. He’s able to reach up to give a quick blow to Rex, making him drop him. He lifts Rex up over his shoulder, and starts slamming into the wall, before spinning him around in circles and launching him down to the mat. Talon mounts Rex while he’s stallion the ground and starts to crush him in a head scissors. He starts flexing and showing off while Rex is trapped down there. Rex is screaming and struggling, but he’s completely stuck, Talon begins pulling at his shoulders again, putting him into as much pain as he can. Rex manages to break out and starts to give back some of the pain he was receiving. He knocks Talon down and mounts on top of him, pulling him back into a boston crab, trying his best break Talon’s lower back. Viking also looks on the refined side, which I mistook to mean that he lacked the fire and fury to oppose a beast like Brute. Not only is the match not one-sided, but Viking holds up his side with grit and resourcefulness, which a match like this one requires. I guess I've grown used to babyfaces, especially (in underground wrestling) powerfully built ones, to be heel fodder. Viking is anything but.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eTwo. When Thunder's Arena first trotted out the idea of offering pro-style events in a wrestling ring, I had concerns. Some underground sites had done well with ring matches, but the majority of them had not. Many of these sites' wrestlers lacked the charisma and ring savvy to dominate the squared circle. Most of them seemed dwarfed by it. They looked like fifth graders in a bounce house, some of them. On top of that, the Arena had such a good thing going with mat matches and frathouse-style hijinks it didn't occur to me that some of these same wrestlers had the gravitas of the best pro wrestling (my kind of pro wrestling, anyway). Yet wrestlers not only did not embarrass themselves in the ring but commanded it with authority.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eThree. Truthfully, I already knew Brute deserved his ring name, based on his performance at other internet wrestling sites. But Brute has become even more daunting and colossal over the past year or two. In\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003eRW58\u003c\/i\u003e, he is beet red with rage for most of the match, and at times I could swear I saw steam rising from his big shoulders. Nostrils flaring, he looks ready to chew up and spit out the turnbuckles. He wrestles barefoot, too, one of the great tokens of natural prowess in a ring wrestler. And for the multitude of times when Viking is in control, Brute sells the agony and humiliation better than almost anybody else on the Arena
